Dinner at Va Va Voom Cafe

Pat & Thiru having Vietnamese food for dinner

When Thiru mentioned having Vietnamese Food, I was all for the idea. Hence on 22 June 2011, both of us caught up at Va Va Voom Cafe for a taste of Vietnamese food.

A small but cosy cafe serving vietnamese food along 36 seah street right opposite raffles hotel. The place has low seating sofa areas. It is also a place suitable for a gathering of small group as the place is not very big.

Super playful and relaxed Pat

All set to explore the food at Va Va Voom Cafe

Lemongrass with Honey ( $3) & Honey Lim Juice ($2.90)

The drinks were refreshing and they were reasonably priced.

Pat and her Lemongrass with Honey Drink

Vegetarian Fried Rice with Cripsy Beancurd ($7.80)

Thiru had this vegetarian fried rice with Cripsy beancurd and it was delicious. Was very tempted with try the cripsy beancurd. However with my plate of mango salad and beef noodles, I decided against it.

Sliced Beef Soup ($7.50)

The usual beef noodles I will have whenever I am having Vietnamese food. It was average. The beef was tough. The mint leaves added to the flavour of the soup. The soup was delicious.

Mango Salad ($6.80)

This is first time I see mango salad with a side dish. The way the mango was sliced was different, not the usual mango salad one would have tasted.

Krupuk tasted nicer than the mango salad

Banana Cake with ice cream ( $5)

This has to be the highlight of dinner for me. Both of us shared dessert. The coconut ice-cream was heavenly. The banana cake was freshly baked and one could smell it from a distance.

Come and try the dessert

A lovely evening in a cosy restaurant with my good pal Thiru. Prices are reasonable and the dishes are aplently to choose from. There are also vegetarain dishes to choose from the menu. We spent a total of $33 for 6 dishes. The staff were friendly and accomodating.
