Colosseum in Rome

Jenny & Pat

After Vatican City, we headed to the Colosseum, one of the most magnificent monuments of ancient Rome.

If not for the fact, I hurt my ankle, I would have stood on the stone with Jenny. Didn't want to risk the injury, hence am happy to stand on ground level.

All ears listening attentively to the guide

The gates to the Colosseum

Built in 72 AD, it used to seat 50,000 spectators and was the chief circus of the Roman Empire where gladiatorial battles and other cruel glories were held.
