The Dining Room @ Sheraton Towers

Pat on her birthday
I am someone who loves to experience new places / food. Always very excited when I am trying something new for the first time. Hence for my birthday this year on 20 Jan 2012, I decided to explore the Dining Room at Sheraton Towers. We were treated to a buffet lunch spread which had a wide range of food, including CNY goodies and yusheng. There was a 20% discount for the buffet spread priced at $49.80
Mum's first round of food - she apparently loves seafood
Pat's plate of food - her love for sashimi
Pat's plate of seafood - another favourite of hers

Mum loves the soup. She had 3 different bowls of soup and one could see the satisfied look :)

I had a bowl of soup - nourishing and warm
Pat's spread of colourful desserts - trust the sweet tooth birthday girl
Our plate of fruits
Mum's plate of Kueh lapis - 4 different versions. Thumbs up for the one who loves Kueh Lapis.

It was an enjoyable lunch at the dining room and spending time with mum. How time flies. With a year older, looking forward to a fantastic and blessed 2012. I am thankful for God, my family and my friends. Thanks for being with me on this journey.

Island Cafe

Cat & Pat - Lunch @ Island Cafe - Cheers to all

Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Orchard road, Island Cafe was located on Level 4 at Tangs. It is a good retreat to take a break from shopping at tangs or just to chill out in the afternoon. One can take the elevator all the way up or the lift. This was my 2nd visit to Island Cafe. We met on 19 Jan 2012 for lunch.
Tahu Goreng - Delicious
Generous with the peanut and the sauce
Catherine chilling out with her drink
Pat soaking in the greenery of the place

It was a lovely lunch time on a weekeday. Thanks Cat for the treat and the book. See you soon for Daffies gathering :)

Hotdogs at Surfers Paradise

Back to surfers Paradise after our trip to Dream world on 18 December 2011. We took a stroll along the lanes and admired the beauty of nature.
We chanced upon a stall selling hot dogs. We each had a BBQ hot dog with a drink. The set cost A9.50. At least we kept within our budget of A10 per meal.

Gina can't wait to take a bite at her hot dog
This looks delicious
All set to eat - at least this looks better than the sandwich pat had earlier for lunch

DreamWorld

This was our 2nd water ride at Dreamworld. This was quite a mild ride. Pending on where one sat, you may get slightly wet. This time it was Gina's turn to be slightly wet. I escaped the wetness :)
Row Row Row your boat, gently down the stream
The bears and the kids
Colourful Train - can you imagine the kids on this train filled with sweets?

It was past 2.30pm when we had our lunch. Was in search of hot dogs but the stalls were closed or rather all the hot dogs were sold out. Yes, I had to resort to sandwich and a bottle of chilled diet coke. Priced at A9.50 this was expensive.

The Claw

If you are game for adventure and thrilling rides then the Claw and Wipeout are 2 rides one should try at Dreamworld in Gold Coast. Not a ride for the faint-hearted though.
The Claw before the Thrill
Check out the height of the Claw
Some say Wipeout is more thrilling, as one really feels like being in a washing machine, spinned in all directions. The Claw has its thrill being hung high up in the sky and being swing around at least 4-5 times from the right to the left.
To the right - hear the screams
To the left - the screams get louder as this coutinues
