Fabrika by Chivas 18, a new sky terrace bar that celebrates the fabric of life at the Boutique Hotel was where a few of us met before dinner on Monday, 22nd August 2011. Perched on the 17th floor of this design-driven hotel and located in the Central Business District in Tower 15 on Hoe Chiang Road, fabrika is an urban oasis, offering patrons a place of reprieve and relaxation which breaks the monotony of a hassled work day.
Ana and Pat met up for drinks. We were joined later by Jeremy and Stephanus.
Wrung Le Le is located at 8 Shenton Way. Currently for the Ramadan period they have a special promotion set priced at $12++ in semi-buffet style.
There were several drinks to order, this is exclusive of the set menu. I had the guava juice. We gave Stephanus the honour of ordering the food. Indeed it was a good spread of food and value for money.
It's always great catching up with daffies over dinner. So much laughter and fellowship that goes behind the scenes. That evening there were 9 of us - Jean, Joseph, Sylvia, Jeremy,Clement,Violet, Stephanus, Ana and Pat.
Our first dish - beef rendang. Very tender and well marinated. Thumbs up for this dish.
Tahu Telor one of my favourite dishes whenever I visit Indonesian restaurants. This dish was ordinary. I prefer the Tahu Telor at Rice Table, richer in the sauce and outer layer is very crispy.
This dish was unique, well done compared to calamari dishes that I have tasted. It's cripsy and the squid is chewable, not tough at all.
The vegetables dish, water spinach was fresh. I found this dish the hottest and had to drink lots of water. It was later I realised that there was sambal balacan in the vegetables. For those who love spicy food this is one dish that is worth ordering.
Thick flavoured curry, the usual curry chicken dish we always eat.
The fish is well grilled. Very crispy on the outside and the meat is fresh. We can all recall Clement crunching the fish and laughing about the incident.
Soup was nice - mixture of vegetables, resembles a little to yong tao fu style - the indonesian version.
There was also kueh, bubor, drinks and beverages and dessert on buffet table which were free flow for those who ordered the sets.

Thanks Clement and Violet for organising. We certainly had an enjoyable evening. Look forward to see you at Daff Class.
