Pulau Ubin/ Chek Jawa

Sharon & Pat
On 1 May 2010, Sharon, my older god daughter and I decided to head down to Pulau Ubin to explore nature. It's amazing what rustic beauty awaits us.

Yes we have arrived at Pulau Ubin

Trying to be the tour guide

Pulau Ubin is in essence, the last 'kampung' (village) in Singapore. A stroll through Ubin takes you back to Singapore in the 1960's with the simpler pleasures of life. As we arrived, all cares are left behind.

Let me take a break before we embark on the long walk to chek jawa

We walked for over an hour before we reached Chek Jawa. As it was high tide, we couldn't see much ecosystems of the plants and animals. Nevertheless we still enjoyed ourselves.

It's past noon - check out the shadow

On our way back, we managed to find a van to take us back to the jetty. At least we were spared on walking the distance in the hot sun. It was an enjoyable half day at Pulau Ubin. Will definitely be back to explore plants and animals at Chek Jawa.

Dinner at Shin Kushiya

On 22 June 2011, I caught up with Debbie and the kids for dinner. It was nice to see my god-daughter Jane. She has grown, the little princess. Very playful yet adorable. Kate too has grown, now she can walk by herself. It's always a joy for me being with kids. Love their company. After spending some time at the playground with the kids we headed to Shin Kushiya for dinner at Vivocity.

Kate playing with her chopsticks - love this shot I took of her.

Dosen't she resemble Debbie for this shot

It's amazing how kids love to smile for me when I take photos of them.

Tim Sum at Yan Palace

On 19 June 2011, the turkey kakis arranged to meet up. We last met up during Chinese New Year at Leonard's place. Hence Leonard, his aunt, and grandma, Janice and myself met up brunch at Yan Palace at 10am.

Amazing at 10am, we were very suprised to see the restaurant filled with diners having their morning breakfast/ brunch. Here's what are the dishes we had at Yan Palace.

Porridge with century egg and pork

Each of us had a bowl of porridge. A fan of century egg porridge, this dish was average. Reasonally priced $3.40 per bowl, I tasted more of the porridge which was smooth and nice. Yet I did not taste much of the century egg.
