Shashlik Restaurant

Pat & Joan at Shashlik

On 10 September 2011, I met Joan for Novena Service. After that we headed for dinner. We were supposed have Dinner at Three Monkeys at Orchard Towers. When we arrived, we learnt the restaurant had shifted. Joan and I thought of Shashlik and we headed there instead for dinner.

Located at Far East Shopping Centre #06-19, Shashlik is a restaurant known for its Russian Cuisine. It is always full house. We were thankful to get a seat without making any reservations.

Joan with her Steak Garlic

The steak was juicy and delicious. Could have been a better presentation though.

Steak Garlic ( $25)

Pat and her Dinner

Shashlik - Pork Fillet with Russian Salad ( $22)

Well known for its fillet, one can select either the beef or pork. I opted for the Pork Fillet. Russian salad is slightly sour, with the vegetables and the fruits.

Sizzling hot Fillet

Baked Alaska ( $18)

The highlight of the evening. Our dessert was none other than the baked alaska. Witness the cake in flames. An exciting sight. A layer of wine is poured over the cake before the waitress lights the cake on fire. A mini colourful display.

Beautiful sight

All set to attack the cake - I wonder how baked is it?

Yap, Pat is having half the baked Alaska - yummy

Check out our baked Alaska

The cake is soft and the cream is rich. Simply delicious. I will be definitely be back to Shashlik to explore more Russian cuisine.
