Tsukji Sushi Takewaka

Takewaka’s first store opened 28 years ago in Tsukiji, and is known for its great sushi.

As the chain’s first venture outside Japan, Tsukiji Sushi Takewaka finds itself at the Japan Food Town in Wisma Atria. Occupying a quiet corner, the space is both refined yet comfortable with wood accents that give off that distinctive Japanese feel. The food was great but be prepared for the bill on the higher end.

Huiping and I met for dinner in December 2016. It's always nice to catch up with school mates who make time to catch up.

Tomo Izakaya

Located at Clark Quay, Tomo Izakaya offers an extensive menu of Japanese small-plate dining. Priced at a higher end, Izakaya-style dining elevates bar food to a level of sophistication as these contemporary interpretations of classic Japanese dishes are perfectly matched with the selection of premium sakes, shochus, beers and other spirits.

Overall it was the company that I enjoyed. The food was pricey and average. It was also quite noisy and the service was slow on a Friday night.

Lunch at Clifford Pier

I enjoy dining at Clifford Pier with family and friends. This dining place occupying the space of the original Clifford Pier preserves the pier’s hawker culture while honouring its historical role as the landing point of Singapore’s forefathers. On the menu includes Singapore’s culinary delicacies represented by a melting pot of diverse cultures including Western classics.

Treated mum to a express set lunch (2 course) at Clifford Pier.

Sushi Tei

It is always amazing to see long queues at Sushi Tei. Yet with the spread and quality of food, I would definitely head to Sushi Tei for Japanese food.

We were at Halia Restaurant at Raffles Hotel for Valentine's Day 2016. It was certainly a romantic experience with Anthony. We had a 8 course couple sharing menu and all the dishes were simply delicious. Thank you for the memories.

Hua Hin Safari Crocodile Show

This was one show that was not for the faint-hearted. We fear for the safety of the trainers.
Trying to get the crocodile to open his mouth
There were 2 trainers. The guy in blue was very nervous and he prayed really hard at the start of the show.
