On December 4, 2011, we were waiting to board our next flight to Chiangmai at Bangkok Airport. It was time to have a snack. This is the view we had where having our snack time at the airport.

Hot chocolate for Edith and hot green tea for Pat. We shared the Chicken McNuggets.

Hot and Fresh. Delicious with BBQ sauce.

Trying to see the creative side

Yes we are about the board the plane - it's the 350pm flight - AirAsia

Arrival at Chiangmai airport at 5pm - Smooth Sailing flight.

We arrived at Seven Fountains around 6 plus. There was a jam on the roads as it was a public holiday.

Our first taste of Thai food at the Retreat house

We were driven up to the mountains at 830pm. Check out the night scene at the peak.

My room. The second group of retreatants checked in at 12.30am. I heard them arrive before I dozed off. It was cold. Check out the 3 blankets that I had over me. Look forward to the silent retreat.

Island Cafe

Pat, Anastasia & Germaine

We met in Alpha at BSC and we have been in contact since. Lots of great sharings and makan sessions. Thanks Gals for the friendships.

On 12 December 2011, the alpha babes caught up for dinner at Island Cafe at Tangs Orchard. It was great seeing the gals since we last met. We had a taste of local food.

Tahu Telur

Pat's Chicken Rice

Can't beat the signature dish at Chatterbox. The meat was tough. Thumbs Down.

Crayfish Fried Rice

Germaine's Penang Char Kway Teow

This was good, better than the one I tasted at Kopitiam at Swisshotel.

Both Ana & Germaine had the Sago

Pat's Thai Red Ruby - it was delicious (Thumbs up)

Black Canyon in Bangkok Airport

On Dec 4, 2011, both Edith and Pat met at 5am at Changi Airport to check in for our Jetstar flight at 7am. It was a smooth flight and we arrived in Bangkok Airport around 915am Thai Time. We had to do a transit to Changmai. Our next flight on AirFrance was at 350pm. Hence lots of waiting time at the airport.

Time to head for an early lunch. Both of us were hungry. There were several eateries at the airport. We chose to dine at Black Canyon. It was the Phad Thai that was the deciding factor.

The menu

Hot Green Tea for Edith ( 70 Baht)

Cool refreshing Lime Juice for Pat ( 85 Baht)

Yap, in need of an iced drink to quench the thirst

Lunch time

Both of us had Phad Thai which is stir-fried rice noodles with eggs and fish sauce, tamarind juice , bean sprouts, garnished with crushed peanuts, corinder and lime. It was delicious. Portion could be more.

Phad Thai at ( 160 baht - around $6)

Our Total bill was 522.50 Baht, around $21 for the above dishes and drinks.

Skinny Pizza

Samantha & Pat

After a late lunch on a leisurely Sunday on 11 December 2011, celebrating my friend's belated birthday, I met Samantha for dinner. At city hall, we had a choice of selection of food. Finally both of us decided to dine at Skinny Pizza located on B1-63/64 at Raffles City Shopping Centre.
The menu

Check out the Pizza

The first time I knew about the squid ink pasta was in Italy this year. Hence we were game to try the Squid Ink Pizza.

Squid Ink Pizza ( $23)

Love the crust of the Pizza. It was unique. There were generous with the Squid - hope we don't become "sotong".

Crispy Beef Salad ( $15)
The beef was tender and cripsy. Yet both of us felt this dish was a bit expensive especially when one looks at the portion being served.

Dinner Time

Iced Nougat Cake ($6)
This is delicous. A fan of Nougat, this is the first time I had a taste of iced nougat cake. It will be even better if it was super chilled. Soft and delicious. Thumbs up. A dish to order.

The cheeky Pat and her cake

It was an evening of fellowship and sharings. An enjoyable Sunday, especially for one who was just back from her retreat the following night.
