On the south western coast of South Korea lies Purple Island. This was the attraction that made me sign up for the package trip. In fact, I heard about this place two years ago and I have been hoping to see this place. Bucket list ticked. (Happy Gal)
Dressed in purple to match the theme of Purple Island, I was all set to explore the place. It was indeed a purple- themed paradise. Thankfully that afternoon, there were not many people, it was just our tour group.
What makes Purple Island special, isn't just the colours. It's the peaceful ambiance, eco-conscious design and its location is off the beaten path.
Purple Island is the nickname given to Banwol-do and Bakji-do, two islands connected by the 1.4km long Purple Bridge ( also known as the 'Purple Love Bridge').
Locals painted homes, roads, lamp posts and even bicycles purple.
It was just amazing to see the items in purple as we took a leisurely walk through the 1,4km path.
Have fun. Go and explore the place. Visit on weekdays to avoid the crowd and capture the perfect purple themed pictures.
