On 6th May, I took mum for an early mother's day celebration at L'ESPRESSO for an afternoon tea. There were two timings. We chose the one at 12pm, hence more of lunch for us. With HSBC Wow deals of 1-1, it was definitely a good deal. Most importantly, spending time with mum was the top priority.
With a sumptuous spread of food, we were spoilt for choice. For local delights, there were sandwiches, croissants, scones, salad and cheese.
Local hot delights comprised Laksa with Condiments, Dry Mee Siam, Shrimps with Glass Noodle, Spring Roll, Pan-fried Seafood Gyoza, Singapore Chilli Crabmeat with Mantou and Nyonya Otak-otak
An assortment of skewers
Western Hot Delights included Mini Turkey Quiche Lorraine and Baked Mexican-style Chicken Mid-joint Wings
The mee siam is simply delicious - mum had a second helping.
Each of us had two drinks.
Durian puffs ( complimentary)
The desserts were the highlight for mum. She tried almost every dessert and loved them. Desserts comprised Orange Frangipane Cake, Blackcurrant Cake, Mango Cheesecake, Chocolate Mud Cake, Strawberry Mousse Cake, Raspberry Cup Cake, Ondeh Ondeh Cake, Mango Pomelo Pudding, Berries Chocolate Tart, Coffee Éclair, Macaron, Chocolate Truffle and fruits.
We waited in anticipation for Pastry Pops Trolley comprising Pistachio Madeleine, Brownie with Gold Dust and Custard Choux Puff. Good Ol’ Days Desserts Trolley comprised Castella Cake, Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Queen Cake, Mini Pandan Donut.
