This year we celebrated Valentine's Day on 15 February instead of 14 February due to Ash Wednesday (the start to Lent). Dinner was at Cloud Nine Private Dining located at CT Hub2. This was my first private dining experience. We were certainly in for a treat. Chef David Low curated a series of dishes which were extraordinary and filled with astronomical creativity. PeiYi hosted us and engaged us with the information of the food and made us feel at home.
Artisan Bread & Butter - choice of savory butter (Pistachio) and sweet butter (Matcha)
We ordered a bottle of Moscato - cheers to a romantic dinner
Hamachi Crudo, Charred Green Pepper - it feels as though we were having a mini yusheng
Asari Clam Cappuccino - soup in the cappuccino cup, take a few sips then with a spoon dish out the clam. Drinking soup like you are drinking coffee - quite unique taste
French Onion Tart - who would have thought French onion soup can be conceptualized to be in the form of a tart. Both Anthony and I had made French Onion soup before and it is certainly not an easy process. Takes around two hours to caramelize the onion. Since that cook, I have learnt to appreciate French onion soup.
Hokkaido Scallops with Roasted Red Pepper Almond Sauce. The scallop was pan seared to perfection and the sauce complimented the taste.
Iberico Pork Belly, Brussel Sprouts, Apple Reduction - tasty and tender
Braised Wagyu Beef Stew, Classic Mashed Potato - top grade beef with a taste of mustard
Red Glutinous Rice Wine Ice Cream, Dragonfruit, Strawberry Compote, Crispy Sesame Puffed Rice.
Happy Valentine's Day 2024
With Chef David Low
