The Butchers' Bridge is Ljubljana's love bridge. It is known to be the place where countless lovers have symbolically padlocked their love and
dropped the keys into the river Ljubljanica, which flows underneath.
The Butchers' Bridge is a footbridge crossing the river Ljubljanica in
Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
It connects the Ljubljana Central Market and the
Petkovšek Embankment. The bridge was opened
on 10 July 2010.
It was designed by Jurij Kobe and decorated with works
by the renowned Slovenian sculptor Jakov Brdar.
There are also some smaller grotesque sculptures of
frogs and shellfish on the top of the bridge's fence.
