The Cajun Kings

Tugged in a corner, The Cajun Kings was the place we headed for on 14 October. We had to walk through a series a houses before we found the place located at #15-1 Jalan Riang. The nearest MRT is Serangoon. This is said to be Singapore's first authentic Cajun restaurant, which specialises in "seafood boil" a generic term for shellfish. This is the place for seafood. Good service. We understand from the waitress that the seafood is boiled, fished out and mixed with your choice of sauce or Spicy Cajun or Garlic Butter. It is then served in a bag that looks that is more a casual style. However I feel the presentations could be more classy and served on a plate. We opted for the appetizers this round as the seafood spread was too much for the 2 of us.Also I was feeling under the weather and I had a late lunch. Perhaps next time, with more people, I hope to try the crabs and  the prawns. Be warned, bibs will be distributed and  diners are encouraged to eat with your hands.

Gumbo ($11) - a deep rich stew of meat, vegetables and seafood. (Thumbs up - must order)
New Orleans classic of Dirty Rice ($6 a bowl) with chicken liver and minced pork
 Sweet Potato Fries ( $8) - Addicitve
Pat and her dinner- holding the cup of 6 Sausages ( $6)
